Posted by Aron on January 19 2008 (Saturday) : 01:13 AMDuring his visit to Ramallah, Bush was asked about his experience going through the checkpoints. His response: “You’ll be happy to hear that my motorcade of a mere 45 cars was able to make it through without being stopped, but I’m not so exactly sure that’s what happens to the average Palestinian“. Only the Idiot in Chief could blurt out such a cynically stupid comment. But the cynicism behind this trip doesn't end with this and other ridiculous comments he made throughout his trip in the region. A few days after he leaves, Israel goes on a rampage in Gaza killing dozens of people and wounding who knows how many others. When Hamas inevitably responds with rocket attacks, Israel closes off the borders of Gaza which inevitably means more death and suffering for innocent civilians. The UN wrings it's hands over the "humanitarian crisis" and collective punishment. And so the "peace process" continues. Meron Benvinisti comments. < | >

"It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it." -Eleanor Roosevelt "Let them call me a rebel and welcome. I feel no concern from it. But should I suffer the misery of devils, were I to make a whore of my soul" -Thomas Paine | |
