Posted by Aron on March 22 2003 (Saturday) : 12:27 AMThere is so much violence and destruction going on today I hardly know what to write. But sometimes, even in death, there is a little bit of light. I am sure almost all of you have read about the story of Rachel Corrie and her murder by Israeli forces. It is one small story, but it encapsulates how low Israel has sunk. Even if one accepts the Israeli army's statement that this was an "unfortunate accident" how can one explain the brutal and disgusting behavior of the army when it tried to disrupt a memorial service being held for her? The only explanation is that Rachel and her friends, just like Yoni and his friends, are so threatening to the army precisely because of their unyielding moral courage. An organization of moral cowards can't stand before the powerful light these young men and women shine on their dark, evil behavior. May Rachel's memory be blessed. < | >

"It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it." -Eleanor Roosevelt "Let them call me a rebel and welcome. I feel no concern from it. But should I suffer the misery of devils, were I to make a whore of my soul" -Thomas Paine | |
